Civil annulment is a complicated and often technical area of the law which regularly involves expensive expert evidence. Since the introduction of divorce, there has been a notable decrease in applications for annulment.
They still occur however, and this firm has experience of a good number of annulment cases over the years. In the past, annulment cases could only be brought in the High Court which tended to add to the legal costs. Fortunately, in recent years the Circuit Court has been given jurisdiction to hear annulment applications. Proceedings in annulment cases cannot be settled, and child support issues are often a priority.
